This place may try to swindle you
I want to forewarn anyone considering this place for service work or tires - they cannot be trusted and may try to swindle you. I had a horrible experience with them. I had ordered tires over the phone and drove over there after I picked up my van from my mechanic's for some suspension work. Once they had the van on the lifts, one of the employees (an assistant manager, perhaps) came into the waiting area and asked me to look under my van. He said that my mechanic failed to place nuts on two bolts of the driver-side control arm (obviously a huge issue), and the employee also suggested that both my idler arms were bad ($400) and the bushings (neighborhood of $1000). I was skeptical that my mechanic forgot to put the washers and nuts back on, but I needed to have those nuts, so I asked them to put the hardware on. They told me that each nut was $10 (!) and explained that it was a "special" fastener engineered for the tolerances of vehicle suspension. I asked them to show me the hardware, I wrote the part numbers, and called the NAPA dealer in Phelan. One nut was $1.15, another was 34 cents. When I confronted them with this information, they changed their explanation and said it included the cost of the lock washer and flat washer (because obviously the washer probably cost $9 - right). Upon further discussion, they became indignant that I would quarrel with them over $20 when they identified a life-endangering mechanical problem. It was repulsive behavior and I am confident that they removed the bolt nuts and manufactured this entire scenario. I should also mention that they put the nut and washers on incorrectly, with the flat washer between the locking washer and the nut. That is incorrect, the locking washer goes against the nut and the flat washer against the material the bolt is going through. This is basic mechanical incompetency.
