I received a written notice from the Credit Collection Service stating I owed $128.00 for a debt. I called the Credit Collection Service on or about 3/23/10 and spoke with an Amanda Oversight. She was eager for me to pay the alleged amount I owed over the phone using my personal credit card. When I asked her what was the debt was for, she stated that a Dr. Ganji was billing me for diagnostic Lab services back in Jan., 2008. I told her I knew of no Dr. Ganji and of any Lab work of this nature. I also informed her that they misspelled my last name (Not Germillion, but Gremillion).
She asked me to give her my full name, DOB, and asked whether I had ever lived at an address in New Orleans, LA. I gave her my full name, DOB and I told her I had NEVER lived in N.O., LA.
She then said they had made a mistake and I should return their written notice and drop the matter completely. I told her NO, I would NOT drop the matter and I told her I was extremely offended that they, a Collection Agency, just blatantly submit debt notices without checking thoroughly who they are contacting! To think that they could affect my credit rating from some incompetent actions on their part was outrageous!
I believe this company should be investigated. It may be a SCAM, or at best, an incompetent Collection Agency that should be penalized or fined for their irresponsible actions.
