A plumbing job was done for my 79 year-old mother. In my opinion, she was grossly over-charged to the tune of almost 13 thousand dollars for installing a 50 foot drain line, kitchen faucet, and garbage disposal. After the work was "completed" I contacted a number of area plumbers for an estimate on the same job. I could not find one that was even half the price Rescue Rooter charged. Most were about one-third the amount. Fine craftsmanship? Hardly. The existing drain pipe was left uncapped and broken off in the wall, the hole through the kitchen wall to the outdoors was left unplastered or stuccoed with daylight showing in, and the new disposal was left inopperable because they could not do the electrical work. Thirteen thousand dollar job? After haggling for a few weeks Rescue Rooter agreed to return 5 thousand dollars to my mother. I was also told that plumber was fired.
