We used Nightlight Christian Adoptions for an adoption of two children from Ukraine. They presented themselves as being competent and knowledgeable about Ukrainian adoptions. We quickly prepared all paperwork as we were directed. Our contact at the agency was constantly surprised by our paperwork being returned as incorrect and admitted that she was not experienced with Ukraine's policies. After several months, our agency's facilitator in Ukraine disappeared with our money and we learned that he had not been filing our paperwork correctly, leading to our problems. Our agency quickly hired another, but we found that she had no experience as a facilitator (she was related to a translator). After almost two years of this process, we were no longer comfortable using them as an agency. We were no closer to completing our adoption and because our paperwork had expired because of the agency's delays, we were going to have to repeat all of our paperwork at our expense. We sent a letter to their director and requested a refund, but they have refused.
