Review 4/13/2010
I have had my vehicle in Mike Stafford's custody several months almost 2 years. I have yet to see my car running. I have placed an order to have my work completed and have paid in full but continue to try to reach Mike about the status of my vehicle. I have on several times complained to Mike that it is hard to reach him and that where he had placed my vehicle in storage behind his shop it was being damaged by a barbed wire fence that had broken into his compound rubbing up against my vehicle along with a very large ladder that was placed against the other side of my car damaging the body work and paint severely. I since then 1 month ago have not had any contact with Mike Stafford since I threatened to have the police involved and he promised me 1 week till my car would be running. IT has been mow a month and I have no communication with Mike at all. His shop isn't at the BBB websites location and the phone number that was supposed to be for the shop does not exist. I wanted to resolve this peacefully without involving the authorities but he has proved that impossible. Since 2008 my vehicle has sat at Stafford Fabrication to have some custom automotive fabrication work done to the frame and engine suspension ects. Mike Stafford gladly accepted the job and during the course of the friendship I have had with Mr Stafford I have tried to stay in constant communication with him for the updates to work progress to my car as well as updates as to when I will be able to make anther payment for parts and service. Mike Stafford has over that course of 21 months has managed to do minimal work to my car and due to storage the car was subjected to damage from a gate at the rear of his shop that had barbed wire hanging from the fencing rubbing up against my car, vandalism, theft of my personal equipment and parts supplied to complete the job order. Partial work completed to the car was paid in cash of 5700.00 cash with a receipt and 2500.00 dollars in exchange for a motor swap including a freshly rebuilt b16a block, b16a head, distributor, fuel injectors, fuel rail with pressure regulator, pm6 Honda vtec ecu, and secondary obd 1 b16a1 intake manifold and an integra LS transmission. I supplied Mike Stafford with parts that were stolen from his shop after he was arrested for minor offenses by his shop mechanics and friends who he allowed custody of a key to his shop when he wasn't there to protect the precious materials that customers had supplied. Among these parts from my vehicle 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback I lost: Earls 13 row Fuel Cooler, Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pump, Aeromotive Fuel pressure Gauge 0 to 100 psi, Aeromotive A13109 Fuel pressure Regulator, -8 AN Fuel Line 15 FT, P28 Honda VTEC ECU, Earls -4 AN Clutch Slave Cylinder Braided Line, -4 AN Earls Rear Brake Lines, and a 1995 B18B1 LS Integra Manual Transmission, TD-44U OBD1 Honda distributor, MSD 8.5mm Spark plug Wires, NGK V power Spark Plugs all Stolen. Parts That Stafford was supposed to Supply that were Paid for were: T66 Turbo, Tial Wastegate 38mm, Custom Turbo Intercooler, 1000 CC Injectors low impedance Saturate, Custom Intercooler Piping, Hondata S300 ECU With the boost control option, Turbonetics Godzilla Blow off valve. To my knowledge Mike Stafford is still in jail and will be there for the next 3 or 5 weeks awaiting another arainment for bail. I have recovered my damaged car and what remained of my car parts and equipment except for the things mentioned in the above paragraph. I want to sue for the total cost of the Fabrication work, Pain and suffrage, and lost and stolen parts while in his custody. His family now since he has been detained are closing his shop down desperately calling all the registered owners of the cars still awaiting owners in the shop. I contact his son who's number is 661-236-9420. Anthony Stafford has been very cooperative in getting me to my car to get my parts and pick up the shambles of his fathers professional life while he's away but it does not excuse the fact that peoples parts are being stolen by any and everyone who walks in while he is away. Mike Stafford has single handed destroyed 8 years of planning, saving, and time for me with my project. Just want to get the money back that I have spent with his business. Just for the record for those who need to know. The address to the Shop is incorrect for Stafford's latest shop. Its 45037 Yucca Ave Lancaster CA, 93534 Okay Stafford Got out of jail about 2 months ago and was contacted by Robert Chavez of the Bureau of Automotive Repair about my situation. Mike Stafford contacted me immediately angry about the fact that I contacted the authorities and then asked for more time. I gave Stafford about 3 weeks then made the attempt to contact him every day. Then I contacted Mr. Chavez who said that he was meeting with Stafford and would let me know what happens. Mike Stafford and Stafford Fabrication joined the registration of the BAR and contacted me letting me know that he was going to be finishing my ca and that he just needed to clean some other parts out of his shop and clear up some other loose ends. After another week of allowing Stafford to play around with the lies and avoid my phone calls I began calling again. Stafford had made an arangment with the BAR that he would make another agreement with me and a contract for my car now to include damages the body of the car, lost parts and stolen parts from my vehicle by his associates remaining in the shop after his incarceration. I was contacted once by Stafford who simply said '" We need to Square up' What are you missing from the car and what did you take with you"? After some time in a debate between myself and Stafford it was determined that some friends Stafford allowed access to his shop had removed my intercooler, Stafford said was completely built and assembled to my car the intercooler piping, Turbonetics Godzilla BOV, Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump, TD-44U Honda distributor, NGK V Power spark plugs, 8.5mm MSD Spark plug wires, and 3 inch Downpipe for the T66 Turbocharger." Stafford asked if he could go and call me back in a couple of hours and ask around to find out which one of his friends had stolen these items, so I gave him that time. Stafford didn't call back that night as he said he would so I contacted him several times till he finally sent me a text message stating 6/14/2010 I have to reorder new Intercooler and piping kit. The next day I made contact with Stafford who told me of his budy allowing some outsider into his shop who stole allot of things from my car and the build I was doing and was very sorry for my trouble but wanted to do better and make the deal happen righting all the wrongs he had allowed to happen on 6/15/2010. Stafford made the agreement that he would be coming to get my car and complete it on Friday last week on the 6/25/2010 and never showed, called, or text me back to notify me of any changes to the plan and despite numerous attempts to contact him and resolve that matter regardless of the warnings by Robert Chavez of the bureau of automotive repair to re-negotiate a deal with me, and my consistent attempts to contact Mike Stafford about these broken arrangements he has yet to complete a word of what he says he would do. My car ins in shambles and no other Fabrication shop will work on it because they say they don't know where he was going with it and don't know where to begin. I lost my car, thousands of dollars in lost parts and thousands of dollars in body damages not to mention the incomplete car and fabrication work promised after I paid in full to Stafford. In the beginning. Thanx for reading this. Stephen Dunn
